MultiSim Modelathon

The MultiSim Modelathon is based on the concept of the hackathon events where different teams work on a challenging problem to ‘hack’ a computer code. Here there is no ‘hacking’ but ‘modelling’. The teams will compete to solve a multiscale biomechanical problem within the musculoskeletal system using state-of-the-art techniques and software. It will provide an opportunity for young specialists working in the area of multiscale modelling. The event is open to all PhD students and Post-doctoral researchers working in the area of biomechanics or image-based computer simulations; and gives young specialists the chance to really push themselves in the area of engineering. Working within a group setting participants will be interacting with like-minded individuals, collaboratively striving to overcome specific multiscale modelling obstacles. During the course of the Modelathon participants will listen to presentations from software companies and experts in multiscale modelling. Be introduced to the multiscale modelling obstacles and available software and expected to present findings as part of a team in front of a panel of experts.

The deadline for registration is 1st April 2015 - Successful candidates will be informed by 15th April 2015.
